WHO WE ARE
The Australian Organics Recycling Association (AORA) works on behalf of its members and with all stakeholders to facilitate an operating environment which maximises the recycling and reuse of organic materials, and promotes the benefits of compost, soil conditioners and mulches across the Australian community and business.
We are a small organisation, led by a Board of Directors and a National Executive Officer. Most states are represented by a state committee made up of members, and supported by a State Coordinator and the National Coordinator.
CURRENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE
VIC - TAS State Coordinator
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the contracted position of AORA VIC_TAS State Coordinator.
Based in VIC and preferably within or in close proximity to Melbourne, the role will initially be contracted at a maximum of 70 hours/month.
The VIC_TAS State Coordinator position has a primary function as the key contact for the VIC and TAS organics recycling industry and acts as a conduit for state-based industry issues through to the AORA national office (via the National Executive Officer).
Reporting to the VIC State Committee/Chair (on all AORA VIC matters) and to the National Executive Officer (on AORA TAS and national matters) this is an important role to support the development of the organics recycling industry in both states and to work with a variety of stakeholders (members, sponsors, government, end-users, etc.).
The ideal candidate will be self-directed and motivated, passionate about organics recycling and the important role this will play in the development of a broader circular economy and will be capable of building the membership base for AORA, securing sponsorship, managing projects, comfortable in organising and executing events and will be seen as a credible and respected voice to government/government agencies.
Key selection criteria include:
- Experience in building membership (for an Association or other body).
- Experience in securing sponsors/sponsorship funds.
- Experience in developing and running events such as workshops, field days, meetings.
- Experience in working with government departments in an advocacy capacity.
- Experience in managing projects incorporating a variety of stakeholders.

WA State Coordinator
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the contracted position of AORA WA State Coordinator.
The WA State Coordinator position has a primary function as the key contact for the WA organics recycling industry and acts as a conduit for WA state-based industry issues through to the AORA national office (via the National Executive Officer). Based in WA and preferably within or in close proximity to Perth, the role is currently budgeted at 32 hours/month, but this may increase as the levy revenue from WA increases and the role matures.
The ideal candidate will be self-directed and motivated, passionate about organics recycling and the important role this will play in the development of a broader circular economy and will be capable of building the membership base for AORA in WA, securing sponsorship, managing projects, comfortable in organising and executing events and will be seen as a credible and respected voice to government/government agencies.
Key selection criteria include:
