AORA SA and Fleurieu Farming Systems Inc join forces to pull together emerging technology and tools to support you to build a Soil Health Plan.

This workshop is suitable for all Primary Producers.

Lunch and workshop materials will be supplied, and are included in the registration fee of $20 per person (incl GST)

Events Speakers include:

Tim Marshall: Soil specialist with more 30 years experience, Tim will bust the myth of issues with organic farming and promote that experimenting with biological inputs is a sensible first step. He works with  some of the largest organic producers in Australia. Tim is known for is ability to provide a clear understanding of benefits and risks of moving toward a biological farming system! 

Melissa Rebbeck: Ag, Climate and NRM scientist, Melissa has been working with Fleurieu Farming Systems to find methods to improve soil moisture holding capacity, nitrogen fixation and carbon sequestration.  Melissa will give some practical tips and hint on how to work more with nature and soil additives including biochar to bring back the soil health balance.  

Rebecca Tonkin: Soil Scientist and farming system specialist, Rebecca has had 15 years experience supporting farmers to improve soil health and hence pasture health. More recently Rebecca has been helping Farmers to improve pH and reduce acidity. 

Agriprove will support producers to assess the value of carbon farming opportunities and whether this opportunity is right for them.  Platfarm will provide a free carbon base-lining opportunity for graziers through an MLA funded project.  Speakers Matthew Warnken, and Oli Madgett will be there to discuss these opportunities.
