Developed for councils, the booklet aims to increase the use of organic products in sports fields, parks and gardens, arboriculture and waterway applications.
At the event participants will:
- get a copy of SV’s new organics information booklet Benefits of councils’ using recycled organic compost
- hear from SV’s Organics Industry Development Lead, Andrew Dougall, and Senior Soil Scientist and author, Declan McDonald, on the features of the booklet and a local council that is successfully using recycled organics in urban and amenity situations
- receive an update from SV’s campaign team on the kerbside FOGO campaign materials
- hear from AORA about it’s partnership with EPA Vic, DEECA and SV in a joint program testing for contaminants in recycled organics.
- learn about the AORA and upcoming events including the AORA Conference in June and Agricultural Field Day in August
- enjoy a delicious breakfast and tea/coffee whilst you interact with local government and organics industry colleagues.
Please promote this event to your colleagues who may be interested in learning more about recycled organic compost in sports fields, parks and gardens, arboriculture and waterway applications.

How to use our booking system (can be paid by credit card or invoice) - THIS BOOKING SYSTEM WORKS BEST ON CHROME and FIREFOX (and if you already have a user account, login via the brown button at the top right of the page first).
Our booking system uses your email address to identify whether you are a member or not, therefore the system defaults to 1 ticket at a time.
To book a ticket, type in your email and click lookup. If the system identifies you as a member, it should bring up the member pricing, auto-populate your name and you can add your business name and any dietary requirements. If you need to purchase another ticket, there is the option to add another in at the bottom of the box (do this as many times as you need for your booking - you can use your own email for ease of booking if you are unsure if their email is part of the membership) Then you will be able to go to the cart and proceed through the checkout as one bulk purchase.
If you are a member, but it doesn't recognise your email address it means you are not linked to your business membership (and it will not apply member pricing to this ticket.
To solve this you have two options -1) go to https://www.aora.org.au/membership and click the button that says sign up for an account to connect. Put your email in here and click look up, find your business name (it may be listed as the registered trading name of the business) and click connect. Your membership account administrator will need to approve your connection. They simply need to login into their account and approve you.
Option 2) Send an email to Alex (email@example.com) with the subject Membership Connection Needed. In the email please include the full name of the staff member, their email address and the registered/trading name of your business. Alex will endeavour to get your staff member linked within 24 hours.
Please note, there is no way for us to retroactively apply member pricing to a booked ticket, so you will need to proceed through the process above (this is a one time action for linking staff to membership.)
For non-members, your email will not be found during lookup. All you have to do is fill out your info and when you get to the checkout, you will be able to create a website user account to enable your transaction to take place in the secure payment portal.
PLEASE NOTE - OUR SYSTEM SOMETIMES TAKES A MOMENT TO PROCESS YOUR CREDIT CARD. If you think that something may have gone awry, you can check in your member portal under transactions. If it shows pending, you can access your invoice and pay directly through the credit card link on the invoice.
