  • Want to improve the soil health of your parks and gardens?
  • Looking for cost effective procurement solutions that promote circularity and sustainability targets?
  • Are you keen to meet the producers of compost and find out more?

Using recycled organics as your first-choice solution for the ground is an easy way to use recycled content, promote circularity, and promote optimal soil health.

At this event,  we will hone in on the demonstratable benefits of purchasing and applying recycled organics products for use in parks, sportsfields and urban design projects.

This outdoor breakfast event, presented in partnership with the NSW EPA, will be held onsite at a recycling organics procurement success story – Middle Head Oval.

Attendees will hear firsthand from Councils, soil scientists, landscapers and community groups about their experiences and meet the producers of recycled organics products.

Speakers include:

•                     Dr Mick Battam, Managing Director - AgEnviro

•                     Malcom Sheens (Operations Coordinator Public Spaces Maintenance) and John Gordon (City Presentation) – Penrith City Council

•                     Dale Crosby & Catriona Carver – Natural Turf Alliance

•                     Geoff Green, Managing Director – Green Horticulture

•                     Mike Twemlow, Senior Sustainability Consultant - Edge Environment

•                     Amanda Kane, Organics Manager, Circular Economy Programs - NSW EPA.

The event will also include an “Around the Grounds” session in which AORA Members who are producers of compost can introduce themselves and their products.

Thanks to our Breakfast Sponsor, Cleanaway, a breakfast of crepes and coffee will be supplied on site (gluten free and vegetarian options available).

This is an ideal opportunity for procurement teams, sustainability and resource recovery officers, greenkeepers and landscape contractors to learn more about recycled organics products and make valuable connections with other stakeholders within the industry.

How to use our booking system  (can be paid by credit card or invoice) - THIS BOOKING SYSTEM WORKS BEST ON CHROME and FIREFOX (and if you already have a user account, login via the brown button at the top right of the page first).

Our booking system uses your email address to identify whether you are a member or not, therefore the system defaults to 1 ticket at a time.

To book a ticket, type in your email and click lookup.  If the system identifies you as a member, it should bring up the member pricing, auto-populate your name and you can add your business name and any dietary requirements.   If you need to purchase another ticket, there is the option to add another in at the bottom of the box (do this as many times as you need for your booking - you can use your own email for ease of booking if you are unsure if their email is part of the membership)  Then you will be able to go to the cart and proceed through the checkout as one bulk purchase.

If you are a member, but it doesn't recognise your email address it means you are not linked to your business membership (and it will not apply member pricing to this ticket.)

To solve this you have two options  -1)  go to https://www.aora.org.au/membership and click the button that says sign up for an account to connect.  Put your email in here and click look up, find your business name (it may be listed as the registered trading name of the business) and click connect.  Your membership account administrator will need to approve your connection.  They simply need to login into their account and approve you.

Option 2)  Send an email to Alex (alex@aora.org.au)  with the subject  Membership Connection Needed.  In the email please include the full name of the staff member, their email address and the registered/trading name of your business. Alex will endeavour to get your staff member linked within 24 hours.

Please note, there is no way for us to retroactively apply member pricing to a booked ticket, so you will need to proceed through the process above (this is a one time action for linking staff to membership.)

For non-members, your email will not be found during lookup.  All you have to do is fill out your info and when you get to the checkout, you will be able to create a website user account to enable your transaction to take place in the secure payment portal.

PLEASE NOTE - OUR SYSTEM SOMETIMES TAKES A MOMENT TO PROCESS YOUR CREDIT CARD.  If you think that something may have gone awry, you can check in your member portal under transactions.  If it shows pending, you can access your invoice and pay directly through the credit card link on the invoice.
